News at Twelve is a 1988 British television comedy for children. The series followed 12-year-old Kevin Doyle and his nightly "news bulletins" about the events in his life. The name of the TV series came from Kevin's age rather than the time the show itself aired, or of Kevin's news updates, which commonly featured his comical basset hound Baxter.News at Twelve featured Patrick Malahide, Sheila Fearn, Julia Foster, Liz May Brice and Mark Billingham.This series was aired on ITV and made by Central TV. A US pilot version was made in 1991 by NBC starring, amongst others, Danny Gerard and Sarah Melici, but it was never screened.

This entry in Warner's "Broadway Brevity" series of shorts is based on Damon Runyon's short story, "The Old Doll's House". Racketeer Lance McGowan, on the night he has decided to go straight, finds himself caught between the gunfire of two rival gangsters and, wounded by a bullet, he finds refuge in the home of a wealthy recluse. One of the gangsters is found riddled with bullets from the gun Lance dropped while making his escape, and he is arrested and tried for murder. The reclusive widow comes to the trail and testifies that Lance was her guest that night when the clock struck twelve, the time of the killing. Lance, while innocent, is also lucky, as the widow had her all her clocks set to always strike twelve, as the time her husband had died.

Twelve is the modern day sci-fi odyssey of Zach, a club kid who wakes up on a friend's floor with amnesia. Zach has no recollection of himself, his past, his friends, enemies, family or even his name - thus beginning a bewildering and harrowing search for his life.
